This is a lovely peacock dish, I'm assuming was meant as a soap dish, although I would never have something so fragile sitting near my sink (times were different back then I guess!). The piece has a small chip along one side, another spot on the other side where it looks like it was chipped and repaired (possibly even by the person who made it). I believe it hand decorated. There are some crazing lines as well. This is marked on the bottom as being from Hannaford-Heckes Studio which I was able to find was in Orrville, Ohio (not far from where I live) and I would guess was just someone doing some pieces maybe out of their home? Found a reference to them from 1956 time frame.  Has a great mid-century vibe to it!
