Description
DescriptionThe BKB-RFM95W-UFL allows you to build your own LoRa™ long range radio modem at a very low cost. By simply buying this pcb and the recommended parts, you can solder up a LoRa™ wireless modem for your application.
This bare pcb accommodates a HopeRF RFM95W LoRa™ modem, Hirose antenna connector and two - seven pin 0.1" headers that are spaced properly to easily push into a standard breadboard, with room on each side for wiring up your modem to a microcontroller. The pads have been extended for easy hand soldering!
Applications
Connect sensors across homes, buildings and properties
Low Power Wireless Sensor Networks - long range, low cost connections not possible with bluetooth, WiFi or other radio modems at similar cost and size.
Educators - teach about link budgets and show how <-140dbm sensitivity="" can="" drive="" extreme="" distances="" with="" low="" power="">
Arduino enthusiasts - leverage sketch libraries and do minimal coding to get a
LoRa™ network
passing data.
Features
Two rows of 0.1" header pins. The rows are spaced 0.8" to allow standard connectivity on development breadboards and prototype boards.
Narrow design allows you to stick this into a breadboard and have room on each side for wires.
RFM95W mounted on bottom to allow for big port labels on the top to easily read where wires attach on adjacent breadboard slots.
connector pads have been extended, to allow for easy hand soldering at three points.
This breakout board will accommodate the following HopeRF Modems, because they all have the same footprint : RFM95W, RFM96W, RFM98W, RFM95TW, RFM96TWs
Parts Needed
(This product must be controlled by a 3.3V microcontroller. We suggest using a 3.3V Arduino development board and the associated libraries to quickly get going. )

Additional Info:
What is LoRa™ technology?
LoRa™ is quickly becoming the defacto wireless modulation standard for the Internet of Things. Utilizing "chirp" modulation, LoRa™ modems are able to connect super long ranges in the right conditions, due to extremely low receive sensitivity.
